Andy Robertson suffers Scotland Nations League injury as Liverpool star OUT triple header – Daily Record
Scotland captain Andy Robertson is out of Nations League clashes with Ireland and Ukraine as Jurgen Klopp confirmed a spell on the sidelines for the full defender.
Steve Clarke’s men resume their bid to reach Euro 2024 via the competition with a double header against Ukraine, sandwiched between the Republic of Ireland making the journey to Hampden. But Liverpool star Robertson will not be fit to lead the squad after a blow in the Champions League clash with Napoli.
Klopp stated prior to the matchday two group stage game with Ajax that Robertson would not be seen again for the English Premier League side until after the international break. He said, “Robbo isn’t 100 percent now. He felt something really late, on the 93rd or whatever minute — actually he didn’t feel it until the next day.”
He then offered the news that the Tartan army had not wanted to hear. The Anfield boss said: “But he is out for at least, I would say, after the international break.”
Scotland have six points from their first three Nations League matches. Defeat in Ireland means Clarke will be looking for maximum points from the next three matches to qualify.
