Kerala HC Rejects Plea to Remove Prime Minister Modi’s Photo From Vaccination Certificates
A division bench of the Kerala High Court dismissed the appeal in a case objecting to the use of Prime Minister Modi’s photo on Covid vaccine certificates.
Previously, a single bank had heard the plea and slapped the complainant — going so far as to fine him hefty. The Supreme Court, while rejecting the plea, noted that the use of photos cannot be considered advertising.
The court further states that the prime minister has the right to give notice in connection with vaccinations. The single bank had previously called the summons frivolous and found that the applicant had ultimate motives. An interim injunction has been requested. The basis of the case that PM Modi’s photo is used in all Covid vaccination certificates. The person claimed that this would act as an advertisement for the ruling party. (With input from Rickson)
