Speaking to BT Sport, Jurgen Klopp praised his opposition:
“Benfica fought for their lives. We opened the door a little too far.
“Their goalkeeper was the best player. We could have had more.
“We are aware of the quality, now we have a nice week in between but we will be ready.”

“They played five at the back and five in midfield, it’s very difficult to find the spaces.
“We didn’t give anything away, you have to be calm and patient.

It took a lot of gasping and puffing, but City eventually found their way through Kevin De Bruyne 20 minutes from time.
Atlético stood the test of time and will still think they have a chance in this one if the equalizing goal returns to the Wanda Metropolitano next week.
