Real Madrid fans will not be happy with Gavi’s comments
Real Madrid and the importance of numbers this summer
Real Madrid is arguably the biggest and most supported club in the history of football. So it should come as no surprise that several top players even want to go to Los Blancos one day. For some, that dream comes true. For most, yes. And it seems one of Manchester City’s targets has similar ambitions, although a move to the Premier League seems much more likely.
Manchester City are fresh from winning a treble. But it seems that Pep Guardiola’s side have no plans to stop and are looking to improve further this summer.
One of the players they have been associated with is Josko Gvardiol. The Croat is regarded by many as the best young defender in world football today.
As reported by Calciomercato.it, Manchester City are moving forward with great strides towards Gvardiol. RB Leipzig is believed to be looking for a transfer fee of around €100 million. The Croatian always ‘dreams’ of Real Madrid, but the club has not taken any concrete steps for him so far.
€100 million Manchester City goal dreams of Real Madrid
Gvardiol is without a doubt one of the best young talents in world football today. And he was arguably the best defender at the World Cup.
However, €100 million is a huge transfer fee, and Real Madrid have already signed Jude Bellingham in a blockbuster move. They also need a world class striker to replace Karim Benzema up front. So it’s hard to see them making a switch to Gvardiol this summer, even though they’ve been linked with him several times in the past.
Real Madrid have plenty of options as a central defender at the moment and it’s not an area that’s in desperate need, unlike some of the others. Manchester City therefore seems the most likely destination for Gvardiol.
