EPL action: Manchester City return to the top, Brentford stuns Chelsea

Manchester City returned to the top of the Premier League with a 2-0 win over Burnley.

Goals from Kevin De Bruyne and Ilkay Gundogan put Pep Guardiola’s side one point ahead of Liverpool, who defeated Watford earlier today.

Brentford stunned Chelsea with a 4-1 win over Stamford Bridge. A great attack from Antonio Rudiger gave Chelsea the lead, but Vitaly Janelt scored, with Christian Eriksen and Yoane Wissa also on the scoresheet.

Leeds went on through Jack Harrison, but they tied for 1-1 with Southampton when James Ward-Prowse scored a free kick.

Wolves defeated Aston Villa 2-1 with Jonny scoring for an own goal by Ashley Young. Ollie Watkins scored a late penalty for Villa.

Elsewhere, Brighton drew 0-0 against Norwich.

BRIGHTON MISS PENALTY – Brighton are awarded a penalty after a handball from Sam Byram. However, Neal Maupay sends the dot over the bar.

OBJECTIVE – Burnley 0-2 Manchester City (Gundogan) City are now 2-0 up and Gundogan comes on the scoresheet after some good work leading up to Sterling.

10:23 am: Jack Harrison puts the ball in the net for Leeds against Southampton, but is disallowed for offside.

10:19 am: Chelsea got off to a slow start against Brentford, with the visitors making themselves heard.

10:16 am: Burnley striker Wout Weghorst is shown a yellow card for catching Manchester City’s Rodri with an elbow.
