Fantasy Football Hub Pulls $550K in Startup Funding

UK digital media start-up scores six-figure investment to target $22 billion fantasy sports market

LONDONMarch 17, 2022 /PRNewswire/ — UK-based Fantasy Football Hub (FFH) has a $550k (£406k) funding round to support its growth in the world of fantasy sports, an industry currently valued at $22 billion and achieve prediction $38 billion by 2025*.

FFH was founded by CEO Will Thomas, 32, who left his job as a consultant and sports psychologist in 2018 to build a company that delivers high-quality digital content and analytics to the fantasy football community. Today, the company has more than 65,000 active users.

Fantasy football is the largest of the fantasy sports, with over nine million players in the English Premier League version of the game alone and dozens of similar formats played worldwide. And there seems to be no slowdown in the enthusiasm for fantasy sports, with 258 billion app downloads expected by 2022**.

Participants in this funding round include novice investors Pierre Leverwho joins the board of directors as chairman, and Top Ten Sport Ventures led by Markus Eggerpreviously an executive with red bulls characteristics of sports teams. The round was also supported by 40 existing shareholders and backed by JY Advisory.

FFH will use its funds to develop its member services and explore new market opportunities. There have been several high-profile investments in fantasy sports start-ups of late, from content providers to new games, the most notable of which being the $680m made an investment in Sorare, a fantasy football NFT company.
