Jordan Henderson mentions what Curtis Jones is 'so good' for Liverpool - Liverpool Echo

Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson has praised Curtis Jones on form after his two goals helped Leicester win on Monday night.

Jones picked up a first-half brace before Trent Alexander-Arnold’s stunning shot completed the scoring as the Reds secured seven successive Premier League victories with a 3–0 win at the King Power Stadium.

It was Jones’ ninth start in a row under Jurgen Klopp, a run that represents the England Under-21 international’s best run of his senior career and the city-centre-born midfielder has thrived lately as The Reds chase Champions League places .

Henderson praised the way Jones’ confidence has grown since he was brought back into the team on April 4 for what was just his second start of the Premier League season with Chelsea.

“I think Curtis’s confidence has grown and playing a lot of games has helped him a lot,” said Henderson. “I think he has performed very well with the ball. With the ball, tactically, he is so good.

“He rarely gives it away, holds it in tight spaces, he has quality – like you have tonight with his two goals – but beyond that, his work off the ball in terms of his counter-pressing has been great.” He’s a great athlete and he’s been great these past few weeks, absolutely.”
