It was the kind of game that you immediately want to forget. From the offset, it looked like it was going to be one of those nights.
James Milner’s clumsy handball in the opening minutes of the game forced the referee to point to the spot. Two more goals before half-time and the visitors went into the dressing room trailing.
Less than two minutes after the break and the deficit became four.
Despite the bulk of possession, Liverpool failed to find the back of the net until a brilliant moment by Luis Diaz in the 49th minute revived the team.
But the score remained unchanged for the rest of the game. Napoli 4 Liverpool 1.
After the game, fans immediately pointed the finger at everyone from FSG to Jurgen Klopp, James Milner, Mohamed Salah, Joe Gomez etc. It seemed that no one was spared.
Trent Alexander-Arnold seemed to get the most criticism, mainly for an apparent lack of energy and commitment and not for his ball skills.

After signing a record deal this summer, Mohamed Salah also caught the wrath of fans.
This fan called out to just about everyone, but luckily spared the Anfield cleaning lady.
FSG spending or lack thereof has also been a popular source of frustration.
Jurgen Klopp now has many players back in good health. Next up is Wolves on Saturday. It will be interesting to see what team he puts there and what kind of effort they put in.
