Hello and welcome to ECHO’s Liverpool news and transfer blog on Sunday 14th May.

Liverpool are preparing to face Leicester City in the Premier League on Monday night at the King Power Stadium. And the Reds are now four points off the top four in that game after Newcastle United drew 2-2 at Leeds United on Saturday and Manchester United beat Wolves 2-0 at Old Trafford.

But while the main focus at Anfield is on the battle for a Champions League place, plenty of transfer activity is taking place behind the scenes ahead of a busy summer for Jurgen Klopp’s side.

Alexis Mac Allister would be closing in on a move to Liverpool while James Milner is moving in the opposite direction, joining Brighton & Hove Albion at the end of his contract.

Elsewhere, reports suggest the Reds are preparing a new approach for Aurelien Tchouameni. The Frenchman has fallen down the pecking order at Real Madrid, where he ended up last summer despite interest from Merseyside.
