Liverpool transfer news like ‘enhanced offer on the way’ and ‘concrete talks’ for player Barcelona likes – Liverpool.com

After sealing two midfield signings this summer, Liverpool must now decide what they need next in the market. On the one hand, there is an argument to bring in another midfielder; on the other hand, a center back could be attractive.
In the ideal scenario, both would be done, but a decision still needs to be made about what’s next. With several names linked in midfield and fewer realistic named options in defence, this is set to be an interesting few weeks.
Among the latest bits of transfer gossip are two players who have been linked with moves to Liverpool before: one who is a scheduled player and another who first appeared as a touted option earlier. Ibrahima Konaté was signed.

Chances are, there are still many more players to link up with Liverpool over the course of the next few weeks, with the transfer deadline still 54 days away from slamming.
Here’s Liverpool.com’s verdict on the transfer gossip that has sprung up around the Reds today, as a pair of talents are linked with moves to link up. Jurgen Klopp’s squad.
Perr Schuurs (Torino)
Italian site Tuttosport reports that Liverpool will return with a second offer for Torino centre-back Perr Schuurs this summer, reportedly already with a worthwhile offer. $39 million (£30 million/€35 million) rejected.
Liverpool, the report says, will return with an offer of $51m (£40m/€47m) and Torino would be willing to accept an offer they consider a “must have” a year after bringing on the 23-year-old Dutchman from Ajax.
Napoli are also bound to be interested in the player, but Liverpool are the team that have made the most progress with a move, according to the Italian publication.
Liverpool.com says: Schuurs has been linked with a move to the Reds before. He is clearly a talent, but the suggestion that Liverpool have already made an offer for him is premature.
romeo lavia (Southampton)
Liverpool, Arsenal and Chelsea all want to sign former Manchester City midfielder Roméo Lavia this summer and Sky Germany reporter Florian Plettenberg reports on Twitter that the Reds have had “specific talks” about a move.
The price that has been placed on the 19-year-old is $64m (£50m/€58m) and Barcelona are said to have had one look at the player before deciding they couldn’t match the financial power of English clubs for him.
Liverpool.com says: At that price, Barcelona are not going to be the only club to feel that Lavia is too expensive. But with Manchester City having a $51m (£40m/€47m) buyout clause due to come into effect next summer, Southampton will feel they must hold out for as long as possible, with a substantial sum almost guaranteed in 2024 if not in 2023.
