Welcome to ECHO’s Liverpool FC Saturday LIVE blog. There’s no game for the Reds this weekend or next weekend, but fear not as we’ll be here to bring you the latest from Jurgen Klopp’s side anyway.
Newcastle United stole a march on the Reds last night by beating Nottingham Forest 2-1 at the City Ground. The result put the Magpies five points ahead of sixth-placed Liverpool, having played the same number of games.
Darwin Nunez has been ruled out of Uruguay’s international friendlies against Japan and South Korea after cutting his foot. Hopefully that will be cured by the time the Reds face Manchester City on April 1, because the last thing they need is more injury problems.
As far as transfer rumors are concerned, Liverpool are said to be in ‘advanced talks’ with Bayern Munich over 20-year-old midfielder Ryan Gravenberch. A price has reportedly been set for Reds Piotr Zielinksi’s rumored target at Serie A champions-to-be Napoli and at least three Premier League clubs are said to be after Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain when his Anfield contract expires in June .
