Manchester City Squad: Confirmed Squad Numbers for 2023/24 – 90min UK
Manchester City come into the new campaign as the team to beat on three different fronts after winning the Premier League, FA Cup and Champions League in 2022/23.
As is always the case with the Cityzens, the summer has been understated and efficient so far. Sales and signings are done with very little saga and fanfare, with the departure of Ilkay Gundogan being something of an anomaly.
They have added Mateo Kovacic from Chelsea to bolster the midfield during Gundogan’s absence, but more signings are expected in the near future. Sale is also very possible if a number of players are coupled out.
As it stands, here are Man City’s squad numbers for the 2023/24 season.
Man City have not listed a single senior player on their website without an assigned squad number, and Kovacic has already been given quite a prominent squad number.
Squad numbers are subject to change during the pre-season.

There are still a few decent numbers available at Man City, although the number one shirt should go to a backup keeper as Ederson is set with his number and certainly first choice.

The two most important rules when it comes to Premier League jersey numbers is that a player’s number must be unique within the team and must be between 1 and 99. Zero is not allowed.
Also according to tradition, keepers generally occupy numbers one and thirteen.
There are several traditions that suggest first-team players take numbers between 1 and 30, but this is something that players and clubs are increasingly looking to ignore. Man City youngster Rico Lewis has worn the most, with 82 in the 2022/23 season.

Premier League players are only allowed to change their squad numbers during pre-season or if one is sold or loaned to another club in the January transfer window.
Clubs must submit their confirmed squad list – including squad numbers – by a certain deadline each year and numbers cannot be changed after that. In 2021, that deadline was September 1.
