What Ralf Rangnick has said about Thomas Tuchel amid inevitable Manchester United links
Following confirmation that Chelsea and their owner Roman Abramovich have been hit with a host of sanctions by the UK government, it is highly likely that links will emerge connecting Manchester United and Blues head coach Thomas Tuchel.
United, who drew 1-1 with Chelsea in November under Michael Carrick, are still on the hunt for their next permanent manager and have yet to make a decision on who will succeed current caretaker boss Ralf Rangnick next season. However, Paris Saint-Germain head coach Mauricio Pochettino and Ajax’s Erik ten Hag are the favourites.
But following the news that Chelsea will be banned from selling tickets and merchandise, offering new contracts, signing new players, selling players and spending over £20,000 on travel to and from matches, Tuchel’s future at Stamford Bridge has questioned. The German is an elite coach and the sanctions imposed, which are in force, for the time being, until May 31, could make his work impossible.
