Less than 50 pc. NHRM funds issued by Maharashtra Center for Covid-19 Patients, says healthcare institution

Maharashtra and Union governments have spent less than 50 percent of the money under the National Rural Health Mission to treat COVID-19 patients, health initiative officials Jan Aarogya Abhiyan said Friday.

The JAA, an informal group of health activists, made the statement based on data shared on its portal by the Maharashtra government’s health department.

“Of Rs 1,583 crore for NRHM as a state share, only 32.3 percent of money has been spent in 2021-22. Health department is only 46.7 percent, while medical education has spent 49.7 percent so far,” the statement said. YES.
