The Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) plans to connect an under construction Mumbai Trans Harbor Link (MTHL) Road to the Mumbai-Pune Expressway to reduce travel time between Mumbai and Pune. The authority is now looking for an advisor, who will prepare a detailed project report and decide on the appropriate link for it. The plan was nearly ten years old, but could not be implemented due to the delay in the MTHL.
According to the officials, a tender has been launched for the appointment of the consultant for “Preparation of DPR for connectivity from MTHL to Mumbai Pune Expressway and under the basic plan, as the MTHL will land at Chirle in Navi Mumbai, a 6 km long link will be connected to the highway.”
