Liverpool is Jude Bellingham’s first choice when he leaves Borussia Dortmund this summer. sources have told Football Insider.
The Reds are frontrunners to sign the 19-year-old Dortmund star this summer, although Real Madrid remain firmly in the running.
Dortmund have opened talks with Bellingham over a new deal and it is clear the England international has still not decided whether to leave Germany at the end of the season.
The Bundesliga giants are demanding more than £130 million to unleash Bellingham this summer.
Liverpool are ready to match that fee and break the British transfer record currently held by Jack Grealish’s move to Manchester City, but they are aware that Champions League qualification is crucial to luring the player to Anfield.
Bellingham has stressed that he is fully focused on Dortmund’s title race this season before turning his attention to the inevitable summer saga.
But if a move to the Premier League comes to fruition, it’s clear Bellingham would rather play at Jurgen Klopp in Merseyside than Man City or Chelsea.
Bellingham has scored 10 times this season and assisted a further six goals from central midfield in 33 appearances.
He has helped Dortmund to second place, just two points clear of rivals Bayern Munich with 10 league games left in the 2022/23 season.
In his three seasons in Germany, Bellingham made 123 appearances in all competitions for Dortmund, scoring 20 goals.
