Transfer news: Lionel Messi is reported to have given preference to the future – PSG Talk

Lionel Messi’s future could see the 35-year-old return to FC Barcelona despite a tearful departure from the Spanish club two years ago.

Santi Aouna from Foot Mercato reportedon Thursday, citing sources, that the 2022 FIFA World Cup winner’s priority is to return to Barcelona after his contract with Paris Saint-Germain expires in June.

There have already been meetings between Jorge Messi and Joan Laporta, and there are also regular exchanges between the PSG star and manager Xavi.

However, the main stumbling block is the finances of the Catalan team. If Barcelona wants to reunite with Messi, they will have to sell several players to ensure they meet the La Liga salary cap. It remains to be seen if that happens.

Furthermore, the Ligue 1 team allegedlynot willing to meetthe salary demands that Messi’s camp wants. He wants to earn similar salaries to Kylian Mbappé, which might be too much money for an aging star.

Among PSG’s many defeats, the elimination from the UEFA Champions League against Bayern Munich, a more than tense relationship with the fans and a disagreement with coach Christophe Galtier, the Parisian adventure becomes seriously complicated.
