Chelsea vs Liverpool and Manchester United vs Leeds will not take place this weekend.

Brighton vs Crystal Palace is also being postponed, but the decision was made due to railway strikes, which have since been canceled, and before the Queen’s death.

A statement read: “Premier League matches will resume this weekend after a break from the season as a mark of respect following the passing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.

“Seven out of ten Premier League games this weekend will be played, with three games postponed due to events surrounding the Queen’s funeral.

The EFL and FA have confirmed that their competitions will resume.

The EFL said: “The competition schedule returns as scheduled from Tuesday, September 13, with tributes to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II at venues across the country.

“A minute of silence will be observed before the matches, with black armbands for the participants, flags at half mast and the national anthem in stadiums.

“With a national policing plan now in place, the League and Clubs will continue to work together with their forces regarding any challenges that may arise regarding the surveillance of specific matches.

“Individual circumstances will be considered on a case-by-case basis, in accordance with the standard protocols of the Match Safety Advisory Group (SAG).”

The FA added: “After a period of pause and reflection before our national match, we can confirm that matches will resume as scheduled.

“We will recommend clubs, leagues and leagues across the country to observe a minute of silence before games are played, and that black armbands be worn where possible.

“All flags at Wembley Stadium and St George’s Park will remain at half-mast this week and this weekend.

“The FA can also confirm that all scheduled football matches will be postponed on the day of Her Majesty the Queen’s funeral on Monday 19 September.

“Our thoughts are with His Majesty King Charles III, our President, HRH The Prince of Wales, and the entire Royal Family at this time.”
